Mendiburu Magic Foundation funds are generated through annual special events, corporate and individual contributions and are allocated regionally, at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Annual contributions reflect the success of Mendiburu Magic Foundation's fund raising efforts for that fiscal year. The Mendiburu Magic Foundation (MMF) will directly contribute one third of its annual operating budget to each of these separate divisions:
Cancer Research
The organization affirms the importance of scientific research and investigations of new approaches to cancer (and terminal illness) detection, treatment, and prevention. The accredited/funded partners that MMF has worked with in the past include St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, National Cancer Institute, and American Cancer Society.
Mendiburu Magic Funds
These funds are disbursed at area medical organizations and/or hospitals for children, ages 0-17 within the County of Kern. The foundation will use referral based and private requests to assist those affected by life-threatening or catastrophic illness. Since 2005, the foundation has forged relationships with area hospitals (Central California Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, and Memorial Hospital-Bakersfield CHW) to provide existing Mendiburu Magic Funds.
Youth Development
The Mendiburu Magic Foundation has created three distinctive divisions to promote and support positive youth development programs within Kern County; that are related to character building and social enrichment. The foundation has an annual scholarship component (partnership with Kern High School District), community mini-grants, and an award called the Nancy Ann Mendiburu Youth of the Year (partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County and Boys & Girls Clubs of America).
The Mendiburu Magic Foundation is a non-profit public benefit organization that is a recognized 501c3 entity, according to the United States Internal Revenue Service. MMF was founded in loving memory of Nancy Ann Mendiburu on June 19, 2000. MMF will strive to accomplish these worthy tasks while appreciating the purpose of human life as being to serve, and show compassion and the will to help others.
With decreasing public support, increasing financial burdens due to these medical conditions, and the challenge of balancing all of these factors, our families are frequently stressed and overwhelmed. Our charity organization tries to assist families by relieving these stressors and contributing towards healthy community strategy.
We can discuss various options and recognition programs related to your kind gift.
Mendiburu Magic has strived to reach out to those within our mission and vision; and we will provide a mechanism for each donor to give at a level that is comfortable to them. In addition, Mendiburu Magic will continue to be inclusive and seek necessary community input before all major decisions and we pay close attention to detail, accountability, and transparency with all aspects of funding and programming/operational issues. This is guaranteed.
We think that makes sense and it is only fair to the people involved with our donor base and client base. The organization is thoughtful and thorough when it comes to assistance…the goals and priorities that we set are close to anyone’s heart. We hope that you will support our mission and vision.
