The foundation names outstanding graduating high-school seniors (Nancy Ann
Mendiburu Scholarship Fund) each academic school year, due by April 15 of each year.
The Nancy Ann Mendiburu Scholarship Fund
MMF partners with Kern High School District and Kern County Superintendent of Schools (distribution partners county-wide) for this scholarship opportunity; offered to graduating seniors from high-school. Please contact your high-school guidance counselor for details regarding the fund and application every spring. Please contact Dr. Christine Frazier and/or Brian Mendiburu (see contact link on this web-site) for questions. Kern County scholarship recipients must be 18 years of age or less at time of high school graduation and will be selected on the basis of the following criteria:
(A) Established Financial Need and Merit as Determined by The Mendiburu Magic Foundation
All scholarships will be reviewed by an allocation committee as assembled by The Mendiburu Magic Foundation and granted in one of the following monetary amounts. Incoming recipients must present valid proof of higher education enrollment and adhere to any foundation requests before funds are released. The Mendiburu Magic Foundation reserves the right to terminate financial awards (awards range $50.00 to $2,500.00 each) and require any conditional standards as determined by a foundation representative at a later date not mentioned on this application and without notice:
(B) Cumulative 500 Word Written Essay
The 500 word written essay should be submitted as a typewritten document. See application below for specific essay elements.
(C) Cumulative grade point average (2.7 and above)
